Lady Vols Conclude Day One of Landfall Tradition


WILMINGTON, N.C. – Tennessee women’s golf finished day one of the Landfall Tradition in 7th place of 18 teams, shooting 2-over (290), their second-best score relative to par this season. 

The Lady Vols sport two golfers in the top 30 after 18 holes at the Country Club of Landfall. Sophomore Manassanan Chotikabhukkana birdied two of her final six holes to log a 1-under (71) that is tied for 17th place, and senior Kayla Holden also used two birdies to shoot even-par (72), tied for 26th place. 

Right behind her is sophomore Angela Arora, who bounced back from a double bogey in her sixth hole to record eleven pars and a birdie in her final 12 holes, carding a 1-over (73) to tie for 36th. Freshman Martina Lopez-Lanchares shot 1-under (35) on the back nine and 2-over (74) to tie for 42nd, and senior Vanessa Gilly heads into Saturday’s action tied for 55th after a score of 3-over (75).

Round two of the Landfall Tradition will begin at 8:30 a.m. ET Saturday morning.
