USC Women's Golf Ready for a National Championship Rematch at the East Lake Cup

LOS ANGELES – Fresh off a team title at the Stanford Collegiate, the Trojans return for their toughest test as they compete against the four teams from last year’s National Championship semifinals in the East Lake Cup Monday-Wednesday (Oct. 30-Nov. 1) at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Atlanta. 
 
COMPETITVE SLATE: Texas A&M, Stanford, USC, Wake Forest
 
WHERE: Atlanta Athletic Club – Highlands Course (Par 72, 6,297 yards).
 
WHEN: The three-day event will begin Monday, Oct. 30, at 7:55 a.m. PT/10:55 a.m. ET, with the first round featuring stroke play to determine an individual champion. Tuesday, Oct. 31, and Wednesday, Nov. 1, will feature match play to determine a team champion, along with a consolation match to determine third place. 
 
WATCH: The event will feature coverage on the Golf Channel with the following times for each round:
 

  • Monday, Oct. 30 (stroke play): 12-3 p.m. (live); 5-8 p.m. (replay)
  • Tuesday, Oct. 31 (match play semifinals): 12-3 p.m. (live); 5-8 p.m. (replay)
  • Wednesday, Nov. 1 (match play finals and consolation): 12-3 p.m. (live); 5-8 p.m. (replay)

Catherine Park
 
Park enters into the tournament as the hottest hitter for the Trojans, as she claimed the Stanford Intercollegiate individual title (-7) and earned Pac-12 Golfer of the Week. That title was the sophomore’s first, as she had finished second or tied for second three other times. Park’s successful week gave her a considerable boost overall, as she moved 28 spots last week in the World Amateur Golf Rankings to No. 47.
 
Xin (Cindy) Kou
 
Kou finished third amongst the team at two-over-par and tied for 26th in the tournament. The junior struggled in the second round with a 75 (+4) but found significant success at two-under in the first and third. Kou makes her fourth start of the season and her second straight for USC.
 
Amari Avery
 
Avery returns to the Trojans after missing the Stanford Intercollegiate because she played in the LPGA Q-Series Stage II. The junior hopes to continue the dominance that she left on as she has one win this season (Leadership and Golf Invitational, Sept….
