State Concludes Round One In Hawaii

HONOLULU, Hawaii – No. 16 Mississippi State opened its final fall tournament of 2023 on Tuesday, shooting 4-under at the Kapolei Invitational. The Bulldogs shot a combined 284, landing them in a tie with Sam Houston State for 14th place.   

Hunter Logan led the Bulldogs through the opening 18 holes for the second straight tournament. He stands tied for 11th at 5-under, carding six birdies to open the tournament.  

Logan bookended the round with back-to-back birdies on both the opening and closing two holes. He also added two more on Nos. 11 and 15, as a part of a bogey free back nine. Logan’s 67 is his eighth par or better round of the year and his seventh in the 60s. He has now shot 61 career par or better rounds and is just the third Bulldog to record 60 in program history. 

Harrison Davis joined Logan under par. He carded five birdies over the course of the round to finish at 2-under and tied for 37th place. Davis shot a 70, marking his second-lowest round of the season. The total is also tied for the fourth-lowest round of his collegiate career. Davis now has five par or better rounds this season, one shy of a his single-season career high.  

Garrett Endicott and Alejandro Pedryc, who was competing as an individual, both carded an even 72 while shooting a combined five birdies. Endicott now has recorded six rounds of par or better this season, good for third on the team while Pedryc recorded his second-lowest round of the year. Both men are tied for 67th in the 114-man field heading into Round 2. 

The Bulldogs will tee off at 1:45 p.m. CT on Wednesday from the No. 10 tee to start the second round.
