SALT LAKE CITY – University of Utah men’s golf head coach Garrett Clegg announced the signing of Montana native Kade McDonough and Washington’s Rex Wilson, both of whom inked National Letters of Intent with the Utes on Wednesday.
Kade McDonough – Missoula, Montana – Sentinel High School
McDonough got his high school career off to a phenomenal start by capturing an individual state title and helping his team take the state championship during his freshman year. His list of victories also include back-to-back and Schwartz Cup titles adn the 2023 Montana state match play and four-play championships. McDonough finished in the top 10 at the junior America’s Cup as well while posting the lowest round in the competition and participating at the junior Orange Bowl. He’s also honed his skills by playing on the American Junior Golf Association tour. McDonough lettered in basketball as well as golf at Sentinel High School.
“We are excited to add Kade to the 2024 class,” said Clegg. “He is an outstanding athlete and golfer and comes to us as the top ranked player in the state of Montana. Kade is the son of Brenna and Kurt McDonough and has one sibling, Karson.
