Brinker Tabbed to ANNIKA Award Final Fall Watch List


DURHAM – Duke women’s golf senior Phoebe Brinker has been named to the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel Final Fall Watch list as announced Thursday by the Haskins Foundation.  

Brinker, who hails from Wilmington, Del., was one of 20 selections on the final fall watch list.

Coming off an impressive fall season in which she totaled a 70.58 stroke average in four events, Brinker was named to the ANNIKA Award Watch List for the first time in her career.  She totaled three top-20 and two top-five placements in the fall, including a tied for first finish at the challenging ANNIKA Intercollegiate to open the season.  

Other golfers on the watch list include Christy Chen (Boston), Catie Craig (Western Kentucky), Maisie Filler (Florida), Megha Ganne (Stanford), Maria Jose Marin (Arkansas), Rachel Kuehn (Wake Forest), Ingrid Lindblad (LSU), Julia Lopez Ramirez (Mississippi State), Caitlyn Macnab (Ole Miss), Paula Martin Sampedro (Stanford), Anna Morgan (Furman), Lauryn Nguyen (Northwestern), Farah O’Keefe (Texas), Catherine Park (Southern Cal), Kiara Romero (Oregon), Louise Rydqvist (South Carolina), Amanda Sambach (Virginia), Molly Smith (Central Florida) and Lottie Woad (Florida State).  

Brinker notched 10 rounds of even or under par, four scores in the 60s and a total of 54 birdies, all Duke team highs.  To open the fall, Brinker collected rounds of 70, 68 and 70 for an 8-under-par, 208, to finish in a tie for first with three other golfers.  She is also coming off a tied for fifth placement at the Landfall Tradition with a 7-under-par, 209.  Brinker’s final round of 68 helped Duke shoot a 17-under-par, 271, to come-from-behind to win the Landfall Tradition for the fourth time in program history.

With her eagle at the Landfall Tradition, Brinker set the Duke career record with 10.  

Duke will return to action Feb. 18-20 at the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Fla., The tournament will be contested at the Suntree Country Club.
