She’s had tremendous success over the past few years on the junior circuit collecting eight victories including the 2022-23 5 Stars Junior Cup Championship to go along with 27 top-10 finishes. Süalp also won the 2022 European Team Shield Championship while finishing third in the Turkish League in 2022 and second in 2023.

“Penn State stood out as the perfect place to cultivate my aspirations and shape my future,” mentioned Süalp. “I am excited to be part of the Nittany Lion family and look forward to the endless opportunities that await me in Happy Valley.”

Thompstone is also a right-handed player from Paris, France where she won the French National Division 1 Golf Team Championship, which has long been considered the most prestigious Tournament in French Ladies amateur golf. She also captured four-straight club championships from 2017-2020 at her home course, Saint Nom la Breteche Golf Club in greater Paris.

Thompstone is a three-time winner of the National Ligue Championships (2016, 2017, 2018) with the Ligue de Paris.

“I knew right away that Penn State would be a perfect fit for me as a result of its unparalleled alumni network and its devotion to sports,” commented Thompstone.

“We are excited to welcome Zeynep and Lauren to the Penn State Family, they both have proven success in the classroom and on the golf course,” stated Simpson. “Lauren is a great leader, excellent student, and accomplished golfer. In addition, Zeynep is a great student and highly successful golfer, she has a tremendous amount of tournament experience and success that will translate well at the collegiate level.
