Women’s Golf Signs Two to National Letters of Intent


The Missouri women’s golf team inked two to NLIs during the early signing period with Alexandra Berglund and Irene Garcia Sanchez set to join the Tigers program, announced by head coach Caroline Westrup.

Alexandra Berglund • Gothenburg, Sweden

• Won two tournaments in Sweden this past year

• Earned the title at the junior finals for the best girls in Sweden under the age of 18

• Also triumphed at the Stenson Sunesson Junior Challenge on the international level

• Placed fifth at the Annika Invitational with a two-under tally of 214

Irene Garcia Sanchez • Jimena de la Frontera, Spain

• Won two tournaments in 2023

• Claimed the Campeonato International Absolute de Andalusia title with a three-round total of 207 – finishing 19 strokes ahead of second place

• Also won the UGPM Baviera Golf Championship with a three-round total of 220

• Competed in the British Girls and English Girls Championships in 2023

The Missouri women’s golf team wrapped up its fall campaign earlier this month, finishing with a stroke average of 291.8 – currently the top mark in the program’s history.
