CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Fighting Illini great Nick Hardy teed off in his 2024 season debut on the PGA Tour last week, and is set to be joined by another member of the Orange and Blue as play continues this week in Hawai’i.

Hardy opened play in Kapalua, Maui, last week at The Sentry, making the cut and finishing 47th with a 13-under performance at The Plantation Course, including a 7-under 66 in his final round of action.

This week, he is set to be joined in the Aloha State by fellow Illini alum Adrien Dumont de Chassart, who is slated to open his rookie season on the PGA Tour at this week’s Sony Open in Hawai’i at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, where he will be one of three rookies in the field.

Dumont de Chassart was also recently featured in an article on PGATour.com. To read more about the Belgian’s path to the PGA Tour through the PGA Tour University program, click here.

KORN FERRY TOUR

Dumont de Chassart’s Illini classmate and fellow first-team All-American Tommy Kuhl, who is competing this season on PGA Tour Americas, opened his 2024 with a bang this week.

Kuhl fired a round of 8-under 64 to win the open qualifier at Weston Hills in Weston, Fla., and earn one of two spots available at the site for entry into the Korn Ferry Tour’s Panama Championship, slated for Feb. 1-4 in Panama City.
