Three Bears Among Top 21 Individually After 36 Holes

WESTLAKE VILLAGE – Aaron Du remained among the top 10 individually and Ethan Fang shot his second straight round under par, but the California men’s golf team was unable to gain ground on the top of the leaderboard with a 1-over-par 285 on Tuesday at the Southwestern Invitational.

The second round concluded with Cal tied for seventh place at 2-under through 36 holes. Ohio State (-10), Texas Tech (-8), UNLV (-8) and Colorado (-8) round out the top four squads heading into Wednesday. A day after shooting an eye-catching 5-under 66, Du carded an even-par 71 on Tuesday and is tied for eighth individually, five shots behind Colorado’s Tucker Clark (-10), who paces the field. Fang finished the day strong and is tied for 15th, making birdies on holes 4 and 6 down the stretch after starting on hole 10.

Joining Du and Fang among the top 21 individually is Tony Chen, who shot even par for the second time in as many days.
