Pac-12 Women’s Golfers of the Week (1/30/24): Gile Bite Starkute, ARIZONA (5th, Vilnius, Lithuania) & Stefanie Deng, WASHINGTON (Sr., Shanghai, China)
- Both Starkute and Deng won spring-season opening tournaments for their first collegiate victories.
- Starkute fired an 8-under-par 64 – her lowest as a collegian and the lowest by a Pac-12 women’s golfer this season – to win the Match in the Desert, edging runners-up from rivals Arizona State and UCLA by two shots.
- Deng delivered a 3-under 69 to win Georgia’s rain-shortened Lady Bulldog Invitational by a shot, carding one of only three under-par rounds in the 30-player field.
- First career Pac-12 weekly honors for both Starkute and Deng.
