Tennessee’s Caleb Surratt Joining Jon Rahm’s LIV Golf Team

Tennessee sophomore men’s golf standout Caleb Surratt has signed a professional contract to join Jon Rahm’s LIV Golf team. Surratt leaves Rocky Top as the first Vol golfer to be tabbed a First Team All-American.

“I am so proud to see Caleb’s determined work pay off for him and take the next step into the professional ranks,” Tennessee head men’s golf coach Brennan Webb said. “Our biggest role as a program is to prepare our players for the next step in their careers on and off the course and Caleb is ready to take advantage of this incredible opportunity he has earned. His immediate impact on our program will be felt for many years to come and I am grateful for the opportunity to coach such a special player and special young man during his time on Rocky Top. Like everyone at Tennessee Golf, I am proud that Caleb is a VFL and look forward to watching his career progress at the highest levels.”

Surratt, who is currently one of the top amateurs in the world, posted a stellar freshman campaign during the 2022-23 season at Tennessee, capturing individual titles at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate and the SEC Championship, in which he won by six strokes. In his first season on Rocky Top, Surratt posted a program-record single-season stroke average of 69.58 while setting another single-season program record in rounds of par or better with 27.

Following his impressive freshman season, Surratt was named SEC Freshman of the Year, First Team All-SEC, and became the first Vol golfer to be tabbed as a First Team All-American.

This past summer, Surratt put up a notable showing after representing the United States in the Arnold Palmer Cup and Walker Cup, coming out victorious each time. Additionally, he advanced to the match play Round of 32 at the U.S. Men’s Amateur.

In his sophomore fall 2023 season, Surratt provided UT with consistency on the course. The Indian Trail, North Carolina, native posted 10 consecutive rounds of par or better, along with three top-25 finishes, including a runner-up finish at the Fighting Irish Classic. Furthermore, he held a team-low 69.00 fall stroke average.
