WAIMEA, Hawaii – Facing one of the deepest fields of the season in college golf, No. 5 Washington will test its metle while playing in paradise, competing Feb. 8-10 in the Amer Ari at Mauna Lani Resort Golf Club’s North Course.
The Huskies are coming off of a solid showing at the Southwestern Invitational the previous week, finishing strong at six-under in the final round, the low round of the day, to earn a fifth-place finish.
Taehoon Song led the way for the Dawgs, firing a final-round 64 to earn a runner-up finish, just a single shot back of the lead. It was the third round of 65 or under for the senior from South Korea.
With a stacked field at the North Course, UW will need to be on its game to post another successful weekend.
Washington is one of nine participating teams ranked inside the top-25 of the Clippd Men’s Collegiate Golf Rankings, joining, No. 1 Auburn, No. 2 North Carolina, No. 7 Arizona State, No. 11 Florida State, No. 12 Georgia Tech, No. 16 Texas, No. 18 Oregon and No. 24 Texas Tech.
Thursday’s first round will commence at 9:30 a.m. PT with a shotgun start. Set at par-72 and 6,913 yards, Washington will tee off on the North Course from holes No. 8, 9 and 10.
