Men Ready to Tee Up at John Burns Invitational


PULLMAN, Wash. (Feb. 14, 2024) – The Washington State men’s golf team is set to get back in action this spring as they ready for the John Burns Intercollegiate on Thursday, Feb. 15 to Saturday, Feb. 17.

The Course and Tournament Format

The 47th John Burns Intercollegiate will be held at Ocean Course Hokuala in Lihue, Hawaii. The course will play as a par-72 at 7,156 yards.

Teams will play 18 holes with a 10:30 a.m. PT shotgun start each of the three days.

The Field

In addition to Washington State and host Hawaii, other teams competing include Arizona, Arkansas Little Rock, Brigham Young, California, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Georgia Southern, Long Beach State, New Mexico, Saint Mary’s, San Diego State, San Francisco, Texas A&M, UC Santa Barbara, UNLV, USC, Utah and UTEP.

Last Time Out

Preston Bebich finished tied for second overall with a 13-under, 203, at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational, Oct. 16-18 in Stockton, Calif. The Cougars finished tied for third, and ended the three-round event at 28-under, 863.

WSU Golf

Head Coach Dustin White is in his eighth season leading his alma mater. The 2023-24 Cougar squad, which returns nine members from last season, looks to build of the 2023 campaign which saw WSU post its best showing at a Pac-12 Championship, finishing in a tie for third. The Cougars also made a return to postseason play competing in the 2023 National Golf Invitational Championship, only the second time in program history that WSU has played in a postseason tournament, and first since the 2002 NCAA West Regional. The Cougars finished in a tie for sixth at the NGI.
