DURHAM Coming off finishing the fall with a victory at the Landfall Tradition, the Duke women’s golf team is set to open the spring campaign Feb. 18-20 at the Moon Golf Invitational, which will be contested at the 6,503-yard, Par-72 Suntree Country Club Classic Course in Melbourne, Fla.

Along with the Blue Devils competing will be a solid field that includes Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Augusta, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Louisville, LSU, Ole Miss, Northwestern, Texas A&M, UCF, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.

The Blue Devils will feature a lineup that includes graduate student Emma McMyler, senior Phoebe Brinker, senior Anne Chen, junior Rylie Heflin and freshman Katie Li.  The trio of Brinker, Chen and Heflin will compete in the Moon Golf Invitational for the second time in their careers as Duke also played in the event in 2022.

Duke closed the fall by shooting 21-under-par at the Landfall Tradition to finish in a tie for first, before being crowned the winner by a tiebreaker.  The Blue Devils posted rounds of 284, 286 and 271 over the three days.  Duke’s 17-under-par on the final day tied a Blue Devil 18-hole score record on a par-72 course.  The win was Blue Devil head coach Dan Brooks 142nd victory of his career.

Duke, currently ranked No. 16 nationally, opens action in round one beginning at 9:40 a.m., on Sunday off hole No. 1 along with Vanderbilt and Texas A&M.  The teams will play 18 holes each day with a shotgun start in Tuesday’s final round beginning at 9 a.m.
