Men's Golf Set to Compete in Inaugural Invitational at the Ford


RICHMOND HILL, Ga. – Rutgers men’s golf travels to Georgia this weekend to play in the Inaugural Invitational at the Ford, hosted by Georgia Southern University.

The Scarlet Knights will have a practice round Sunday before playing 36 continuous holes on Monday. Rutgers will tee off at 7:45 AM Monday morning.

The tournament takes place at the Ford Field & River Club. The course plays at a par 72 and at 7,409 yards. This is the first time Rutgers will play at this course.

The event will field 8 teams including host Georgia Southern, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Utah, Wake Forest, and Wisconsin. Rutgers currently sits as the 80th ranked team in the country, and will compete against five other teams ranked in the top 100.

Men’s golf had an impressive showing last time out. They finished fifth in the field of 16 at the Palmas del Mar Collegiate. They shot 11-under in Round 3 which is tied for the fourth-best 18-hole finish in school history. Xavier Marcoux tied for fifth out of 99 golfers with a total score of 207 (-9).

Rutgers will travel to Bluffton, South Carolina on Monday March 5th to play in the Colleton River Collegiate hosted by Michigan State.
