Bears Finished 5th In Last Year’s Juli Inkster Invitational

FAIRFAX – The No. 25 California women’s golf team returns to NorCal for the Juli Inkster Invitational at Meadow Club this Monday and Tuesday.

Among the 14-team field, the Golden Bears are one of four top-25 programs that will be competing on the par 72, 6,157-yard course.

After missing Cal’s most recent outing at the Pac-12 Preview in Hawaii, Adora Liu is back in the lineup. The sophomore – who is currently ranked 77th individually in the nation (Spikemark) – owns the Bears’ best scoring average (71.9) and has finished in the top 10 a team-best three times.

Senior Cristina Ochoa will be making her spring debut. A mainstay in Cal’s lineup the last several years, Ochoa played a big part in the Bears’ comeback win during her last time out at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate, shooting under par in all three rounds and finishing tied for 13th place at 4-under 212.

Cal finished in fifth place out of 13 teams in last year’s Juli Inkster Invitational, moving up five spots over the final two rounds led by Ochoa’s (75-68-73 – 216) 6th-place individual finish.

Also in the lineup are senior Rina Tatematsu, junior Kaylyn Noh and freshman standout Constance Fouillet, who leads the team with 10 par or better rounds.
