Play Suspended, Stanford Wins - Stanford University Athletics

FAIRFAX, Calif. — Conditions during the final round of the 2024 Juli Inkster Invitational were not better than they were during 36 holes on Monday. No. 1 Stanford women’s golf entered the day leading the field by three strokes, and that wound up being the victory after play was suspended due to inclement weather and unplayable greens.

Teams battled through swirling winds and persistent rain all morning and early into the afternoon, with the pace of play slowing down significantly as a result. Stanford was one of the few teams playing well despite the conditions, highlighted by Megha Ganne. The sophomore was closing in on her second win of the season, having taken the lead on the back nine after entering the day four strokes off the lead.

Unfortunately, greens began to puddle with water, creating impossible putting paths for golfers. Tournament officials made the decision to suspend play officially and announce the tournament final, reverting back to 36 holes for the official results. Yesterday’s results are listed below. This gives Stanford the championship in the last two Juli Inkster Invitationals.

This is the second tournament win of the season for the top-ranked Cardinal, who will not be in action again until the PING/ASU Invitational on March 28-30.
