February Student-Athletes of the Month Announced

TUCSON, Ariz. – The student-athletes for the month of February 2024 have been announced by C.A.T.S. Academics and the honorees include Yannick Malik (Men’s Golf), Trevor Long (Baseball), Magdalena Hagsten Skarda (Women’s Swim & Dive) and Grace Reeder (Triathlon).
 
Athlete: Yannick Malik
Year: Sophomore
Sport: Men’s Golf
Hometown: Munich, Germany 
“Yannick Malik, a sophomore on the men’s golf team, has grown into being a more independent learner. He utilizes the academic support and makes the necessary appointments that best help him succeed. He shows excellence both in academics and as a member of the men’s golf team. “Trevor Long is a senior student-athlete who embodies excellence both on and off the field. Throughout his four years at the University of Arizona, Trevor has demonstrated remarkable dedication, balancing demanding academics with baseball. As a standout athlete, he has achieved numerous accolades and successes, showcasing outstanding skill, teamwork, and leadership qualities. In the classroom, Trevor excels, maintaining high grades while navigating the demands of his busy athletic schedule. “Magdalena is a dedicated and accomplished freshmen student-athlete as a member of the Women’s Swim team. She excels both in the pool and academically and has shown everyone her commitment to her sport and academics. Magdalena strives to do the best every day and always does it with a smile on her face.
