Van Paris Makes PGA Tour Debut this Week – Vanderbilt University Athletics – Official Athletics Website

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt men’s golf junior Jackson Van Paris will make his PGA Tour debut this week, as he earned an exemption into the 2024 Puerto Rico Open. The tournament will take place March 7-10 at the Grand Reserve County Club.

Van Paris earned his exemption into the Puerto Rico Open by finishing third in the Elite Amateur Golf Series this past summer. The Pinehurst, North Carolina, native will tee off Thursday at 6:40 a.m. CT from Rio Grande, Puerto Rico in a group with Chan Kim and Paul Haley II. “We are excited for him to get his first PGA Tour start,” said Vanderbilt men’s golf head coach Scott Limbaugh. “These guys all have hopes and dreams of playing professional golf at the highest levels and this is a great opportunity for him to learn and one that he earned through his outstanding play this summer.”

Van Paris won’t be the only Commodore competing at the Grand Reserve Country Club, as Brandt Snedeker is also in the field. Snedeker will tee off at 10:08 a.m. CT.

Former Vanderbilt All-Americans, John Augenstein and Reid Davenport will play in their second Korn Ferry Tour event of the year this week. The duo will participate in the Astara Chile Classic, presented by Scotiabank, March 7-10. Davenport tees off at 6:05 a.m. CT on Thursday, while Augenstein begins at 9:55 a.m. CT. Matthias Schwab continues his run on the DP World Tour this week. The former Commodore All-American will be in South Africa this week to participate in the Jonsson Workwear Open at the Glendower Golf Club in Dowerglen. Fans can follow the Jonsson Workwear Open by clicking the link here.
