Women's Golf Central: MountainView Collegiate


TUSCON, Ariz. – Tennessee women’s golf is set to venture to Tuscon, Arizona, to compete in the MountainView Collegiate.

The tournament, co-hosted by Kansas State and Missouri, is held at The Preserve Golf Club and features one round each day, beginning on Friday, March 15, and going until Sunday, March 17.

 

This season will mark the Lady Vols’ first appearance at the MountainView Collegiate, the 24th annual competition. The team last competed at the Chevron Collegiate in Houston, Texas, placing seventh. Kayla Holden and Bailey Davis each tied for sixth in the tournament, earning the fourth-best scores in program history (207).

 

LADY VOLS LINEUP

Kayla Holden

Holden earned SEC Golfer of the Week honors after her performance at the Chevron Collegiate. She has earned a career-high three top-10 finishes this season and four top-25 placements.

 

Bailey Davis

Joining her teammate, Davis also was named SEC Golfer of the Week after she matched Holden’s score during the Chevron Collegiate. The White Plains, Maryland, native boasts two finishes in the top 10 and three in the top 25 during her junior campaign.

 

Angela Arora

Arora logged her third par or better round of the season en route to tying for 48th with a score of 219 (+3) during the Chevron Collegiate. The sophomore’s best finish this season was a top-20 placement during the Sun Coast Invitational.

 

Manassanan Chotikabhukkana

Most recently at the Chevron Collegiate, Chotikabhukkana tied for 48th with a mark of 219 (+3). So far in her sophomore season, she has earned three top-10 finishes and five in the top 25 and earned SEC Golfer of the Week honors following her performance at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate.

 

Vanessa Gilly

Gilly shot a 221 (+5) during the Chevron Collegiate to place 59th. The Caracas, Venezuela, native is currently enjoying the best season of her career, with three finishes in the top 10 and five in the top 25.

 

Martina Lopez-Lanchares

Competing as an individual, Lopez-Lanchares most recently earned the best score of her career with a 213 (-3) during the Chevron Collegiate to tie for 30th, leading all individuals. The reigning SEC Freshman of the Week is set to compete in her sixth tournament as a Lady Vol and has shot four rounds of par or better this season.
