CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Six former Fighting Illini will be in action this week across the PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR Champions, PGA TOUR Americas, and the DP World Tour.

Thomas Detry and Nick Hardy, fresh off appearances at The PLAYERS, will be re-joined by tour rookie Adrien Dumont de Chassart as the PGA TOUR tees off this week at the Valspar Championship at the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Fla.

Detry made his fourth cut through seven tournaments to open his 2024 season and grinded out a T62 finish at The PLAYERS. He will tee off at the Valspar Championship for the first time.

Hardy, on the other hand, will return to the Valspar Championship for the second straight season. It is his ninth start of the season, overall, and he is in search of his sixth made cut.

Dumont de Chassart, like Detry, will make his Valspar Championship debut. He is coming off the best finish of his career two weeks ago when he placed T6 at the Puerto Rico Open.

Steve Stricker is also coming off The PLAYERS, and returns to PGA TOUR Champions this week where he will be in action at the Hoag Classic Newport Beach at Newport Beach Country Club in California.

Stricker finished T2 at last year’s Hoag Classic, one of 11 top-two finishes in 16 events during his record-setting 2023 season.

The PGA TOUR Americas’ inaugural season begins this week with the Bupa Championship at PGA Riviera Maya in Tulum, Mexico, where former Illini All-American Tommy Kuhl will tee off.

Kuhl, earlier this year, Monday Qualifiied and competed at the Korn Ferry Tour’s Panama Championship in early February.

Matthis Besard tees off in his ninth event of the 2024 season, and is in search of his third made cut this week at the Porsche Singapore Classic at Laguna National Golf Resort Club.
