Men's Golf Competes in Two Events


DURHAM – The Duke men’s golf team begins play at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational on Monday, playing the first two rounds of the event at the Floridian National Golf Club in Palm City, Fla. The par-71 course plays to a distance of 6,943 yards and the event is hosted by the University of Houston.

The 16-team field consists of Houston, Duke, Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Florida State, Lamar, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, South Florida, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest.

Duke starts a lineup of Luke Sample, Bryan Kim, Ethan Evans, William Love and Daniel Choi. Tee times and pairings have yet to be announced.

Duke also has five individuals set to compete at the Seahawk Intercollegiate, hosted by UNCW, on Sunday, March 24 and Monday, March 25. Jimmy Zheng, Ian Siebers, Kelly Chinn, Daniel Uranga and John Peters make up the Blue Devils’ representation in the field.

The Seahawk Intercollegiate is played on the Country Club of Landfall Nicklaus Course, which is a par-72, 7,030 yard, layout. The first 36 holes are played on Sunday, starting with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The Blue Devils’ individuals are slated to tee off of holes No. 16 and 17. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.
