Devine Named Big Ten Golfer of the Week

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – After a runner-up finish at the Fresno State Classic, Rutgers graduate student Leigha Devine was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week by the conference on Thursday afternoon.

Devine led the Scarlet Knights with a runner-up finish, coming up just two strokes behind the event winner.

She made big moves on the first day of play, topping the leaderboard after two rounds of play on Monday. She opened the tournament with a birdie on hole No. 4 and would birdie three of her first six holes, ultimately finishing with five in the round en route to a 2-under 70. Devine then carded an eagle on No. 4 in her second round and would shoot a 1-under 71 to top the leaderboard at 3-under going into the final round. With a 1-over 73 in her final round, she finished 2-under for the tournament and tied for second place.

This marks the second time Devine has received the honor from the conference, also earning Golfer of the Week accolades following her first-place finish at the Badger Invitational in 2022.
