Florida State’s Clanton Named ACC Men’s Golfer of the Month

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Headlined by a pair of individual titles, Florida State sophomore Luke Clanton has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Golfer of the Month for March.

After tying for 23rd at the Cabo Collegiate to begin the month, Clanton took home medalist honors at the Seminole Intercollegiate and the Valspar Collegiate Invitational, as he finished the six rounds a combined 30-under par. With his pair of victories, the Hialeah, Florida, native became the first Seminole to win consecutive tournaments since national golfer of the year John Pak won in back-to-back fashion in the shortened 2020 season at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate (Feb. 11) and the Seminole Intercollegiate (Feb. 23).

At the Seminole Intercollegiate, Clanton sank a 15-foot putt on his final hole to edge teammate Tyler Weaver for the individual crown. The sophomore finished at 11-under (205) headlined by a second-round 65 for his second career individual title.

At the Valspar Collegiate Invitational, Clanton finished at 14-under and paced the Seminoles to the team title. Clanton recorded a tournament-best 18 birdies and won medalist honors by five strokes, as Florida State notched its 100th tournament win in program history. With the victory, Clanton earns an exemption into the 2025 Valspar Championship, part of the PGA TOUR’s FedEx Cup.
