Jackson Buchanan | Jr., Men’s Golf | Major: Operations Management
Jackson Buchanan was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week following his medalist performance to lead Illinois to a team title at the 34th Duck Invitational at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore. It marked the fourth-career Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor for Buchanan, and his second of the season. Buchanan claimed the third win of his collegiate career and second this season after leading the tournament in both Par-4 (3.94) and Par-5 (4.22) scoring. He carded two of the three lowest individual rounds of the tournament with back-to-back scores of 67 (-4) in Rounds 2 and 3. After a 5-over start through his first 14 holes, Jackson shot 11-under during his final 40 holes for a score of 207 (-6) to close out the three-stroke victory. Overall, Buchanan played 46 of 54 holes at par or better with 12 birdies and one eagle.
A native of Dacula, Ga., Buchanan is a junior in operations management with a 3.63 GPA.
