What a Saturday at Augusta National Golf Club for Lottie Woad.
The 20-year-old sophomore at Florida State won the 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur on Saturday, birdieing three of her final four holes to beat USC freshman Bailey Shoemaker by one shot. Woad, who came into the day with a two-shot lead, shot 3-under 69 in the final round to finish at 8 under for the tournament.
Woad, from England, is the second international winner of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, joining Japan’s Tsubasa Kajitani in 2021.
Woad has made the cut in both her ANWA appearances, including a 13th-place finish in 2023 before her victory Saturday.
