Women’s Golf Ready for Bobcat Desert Classic


PULLMAN, Wash. (April, 6, 2024) – The Washington State women’s golf team is set to play at the Bobcat Desert Classic in Goodyear, Ariz. on April 8-10.

The Course and Tournament Format

The Bobcat Desert Classic will be held at the Golf Club of Estrella. The course will play as a par-72 at 6,249 yards.

Teams will play 18 holes each of the three days, starting on Monday, April 8 with tee times starting at 8:00 a.m. PT on Monday and Tuesday before a 7:30 a.m. start on Wednesday.

The Field

In addition to Washington State and host Montana State, Eastern Washington, Seattle University, Montana, Wyoming, UT Rio Grande Valley, Boise State, Utah Valley, Weber State, Portland State, Idaho, Cal Baptist, Gonzaga, Grand Canyon, Utah Tech, and Idaho State will also make up the 17-team field.

Last Time Out

The Cougs last competed in the Fresno State Classic on March 24-25, finishing in sixth place at 22-over, 886 at the par-72 Copper River Country Club. Madelyn Gamble led the pack in 11th among individuals with a 3-over, 219.

WSU Golf

Head Coach Sofie Aagaard is in her second season leading the Cougars. The 2023-24 Cougar squad returns four members from the 2022-23 squad, including junior Madelyn Gamble, who ended last season with a third-place finish at the 2023 Pac-12 Golf Championships.
