Blue Devil Women’s Golf Moves to No. 7 Nationally

DURHAM As the Duke women’s golf program prepares to open postseason action next week, the Blue Devils moved to No. 7 nationally in the latest Scoreboard rankings, which is powered by clippd.

Duke recently competed in the Old Barnwell Match Play in Aiken, S.C., and turned in a pair of wins against No. 18 Florida State and Mississippi State.  The Blue Devils closed action with a 2.5-2.5 tie against No. 4 South Carolina.

The No. 7 ranking is the highest for the Blue Devils this season.

Since the 1999-2000 campaign, the Blue Devils have been ranked in the top-10 of the national polls at one point every year under the direction of head coach Dan Brooks, who is in his 40th season at Duke.

In the rankings, Stanford holds the top slot, while South Carolina, Wake Forest, UCLA, LSU, Arkansas, Duke, Texas, Southern California and Auburn round out the top 10 teams.

Duke also boasts five golfers ranked in the top-115 of the individual rankings as well – Emma McMyler (50), Katie Li (62), Anne Chen (89), Phoebe Brinker (92) and Andie Smith (113).

The ACC Championship will take place April 18-21 at Porters Neck Country Club in Wilmington, N.C.
