Mackova Named Co-Big Ten Golfer of the Week

ROSEMONT, IL — Senior Patricie Mackova of the Maryland women’s golf team earned her second career weekly honor as she was named Co-Big Ten Golfer of the Week Wednesday. She shares the honor with Michigan’s Monet Chun and Rutgers’ Rikke Nordvik.

Mackova, a biochemistry major, picked up her first win of the year as she dominated at the Texas Showdown in Dallas. She won the stroke play individual title Monday, scoring 135 through the two rounds. She shot a 69 in the first round and 66 in the second, which tied her season low round. She made 12 birdies in the 36-hole event and just three bogeys. She led Maryland to a second-place finish and the No. 2 seed in Tuesday’s match play event. In match play, she won her semifinal match at 3&2. Maryland won the semifinals match 4-1 over UCF to advance to the finals.

Mackova was last named Co-Golfer of the Week on April 19, 2023.

Mackova and the Terrapins will compete in the Big Ten Championships April 19-21 at Bulle Rock Golf Course.
