IOWA CITY, Iowa – After two rounds of play at the Hawkeye Invitational, the Wisconsin men’s golf team is in first place among the 16-team field golfing at the Finkbine Golf Course.
Cameron Huss leads the way for the Badgers as the senior is in first place at 10-under par. Huss shot a 66 (-5) in each of the first two rounds and leads all golfers in the tournament in birdies with 13.
Saturday, April 13
Round 2
The Badgers closed out the second round with a 279 (-5), good for a first place finish. The team carded a total of 28 birdies among the six golfers in the round.
Huss once again led the Badgers, shooting a five-under 66 with seven birdies, bringing his total to 13 .
Jacob Beckman, Blake Wisdom and Daniel Aas each made par in the second round, with Aas finishing the day tied for sixth at three-under par. Beckman will head into the third round tied for 26th at par, while Wisdom is tied for 41st a three-over par.
Individual Spencer Turtz carded a two-over 73, good for four-over par overall (T53). Coalter Smith also shot a two-over 73, placing him tied for 59th at five-over par.
Round 1
Wisconsin shot a 279 (-5) in the opening round of the Hawkeye Invitational, placing them in fourth.
Huss paced the Badgers in the first round, shooting a five-under 66 with an impressive six birdies. Aas followed closely behind with a three-under 68.
Beckman made par in the round with five birdies, while Smith and Wisdom each shot a three-over 74. Wisdom grabbed an eagle on Hole 7 after a birdie on the previous hole.
Competing as an individual, Turtz carded a two-over 73.
