Gators on Tour: Week 15

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A tradition like no other. Camillo Villegas returned to The Masters for the first time since 2015 and walked away with his second best finish at the tournament.

Camillo Villegas finished T-35 at Augusta National this weekend in the 20-year pro’s seventh start at The Masters.

Villegas excels on Maters Sunday and this year was no different as he tied his lowest round score with a 69. Villegas’s last 69 in a round at the Masters came on Sunday in 2009. The former Gator notched seven birdies  and tied his best three hole stretch with birdies on 16, 17 and 18 to end the tournament.

What’s Next
The PGA Tour travels to Hilton Head for the RBC Heritage. Former Gator Alejandro Tosti will be the lone representative in South Carolina. 

The PGA Tour will also be in The Dominican Republic for the Corales Puntacana ChampionshipBilly Horschel and Tyson Alexander are the two Gators in the field. 

The Korn Ferry Tour will travel to Lakewood Ranch Florida in two weeks for the LECOM Suncoact Classic. Former Gators Ricky Castillo, Fred Biondi and T.J. Vogel will all tee off at Lakewood National.

The PGA Tour Champions is back, returning April 19 for the Invited Celebrity Classic. Brian Gay (8:39 a.m.), Scott Dunlap (9:22 a.m.) and Chris DiMarco (1:38 p.m.) all tee off at Las Colinas Country Club tomorrow. 

The Florida Gators Men’s Golf team will travel to St. Simons Island, Ga. on April 24 for the SEC Championship. April 24 through 26 will be stroke play with the best eight teams advancing to the match play starting April 27.
