SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – Coming in at one shot over par for the day, Washington stayed steady on Wednesday to finish second at the historic Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Club.

The second place finish is the Dawgs’ eighth top-5 of the regular season.

Petr Hruby and Taehoon Song were the top finishers for the Huskies, each finishing even for the tournament to tie for ninth. Hruby shot a one-over 71, while Song was one of two Huskies to post a red number on Wednesday at 69.

Teddy Lin was one shot back of Hruby and Song, placing tied for 14th with a 71 in the final round. Meanwhile, Bo Peng eagled 18 to move up to a tie for 21st with a 70 on Wednesday, three-over for the weekend.

Justin Bae also fired an even-par 70 on the day, matching Finn Koelle for a tie for 65th for the tournament at 13-over. Koelle fought through an up and down round on Wednesday, highlighted by an eagle on the par-4 13th.

Matching Song and his season-best score. Drew Warford posted a 69 to move into a tie for 39th for the tournament. However, Warford was competing as an individual and did not factor into the Huskies’ team score.

With a play six, count five, format, the Western Collegiate is a perfect precursor for the Pac-12 Championship, scheduled for Apr. 26-28 at Desert Forest Golf Club in Carefree, Arizona.
