SPAIN – Duke women’s golf incoming freshman Anna Cañado Espinal collected a third-place finish recently at the Copa R.C.G. Sotogrande – European Nations Championship, which was contested at the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande in Spain.
Cañado, who hails from Barcelona, Spain, turned in rounds of 74, 71, 73 and 71 for a 1-over-par, 289, to finish six shots off the lead. She collected 10 birdies and one eagle over the four days of action.
As a team, Spain placed third overall with a 583, behind Sweden (565) and England (582).
Elin Pudas-Remler won the individual title with a 5-under, 283.
