Men’s Golf Set for Big Ten Championship Friday-Sunday

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Penn State men’s golf team heads to the 2024 Big Ten Men’s Golf Championship Friday through Sunday at Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio.

The Scioto Country Club plays as a par-70, 7,240-yard course. Teams will play 18 holes each day with tee times beginning at 9 a.m. Friday and Saturday and 8 a.m. on Sunday.

All 14 Big Ten teams will compete this weekend for the conference crown. Five Big Ten teams are ranked in the top 50 of the latest set of Scoreboard rankings in #18 Illinois, #28 Purdue, #37 Ohio State, #44 Northwestern and #46 Indiana.

Penn State will be represented by Patrick Sheehan, Jake Griffin, Jimmy Meyers, Morgan Lofland and Billy Pabst Jr. The Nittany Lions are coming off a strong showing at the Rutherford Intercollegiate two weeks ago as Penn State claimed its ninth-straight Rutherford Intercollegiate crown. Three Nittany Lions finished in the top 10, led by Sheehan who placed tied for second.

Scioto Country Club is the host of the Big Ten Men’s Golf Championship for the first time since 1928. Designed as the first 18-hole golf course in central Ohio by renowned Scottish-born architect Donald Ross, it later became the Club where golf’s greatest player, Jack Nicklaus, learned the game. Scioto enjoys rich tournament tradition as one of only five golf courses in the United States to have hosted five different major championships.

Live scoring of the 2024 Big Ten Men’s Golf Championship will be available throughout the event via GolfStat.
