Quartet of Cats Earn All-Pac-12 Honors

TUCSON, Ariz. – Four members of No. 11 Arizona Men’s Golf received all-conference honors on Thursday from the Pac-12 Conference. Tiger Christensen, Filip Jakubcik and Zach Pollo were all selected to the All-Pac-12 Second Team while Tianyi Xiong earned spot on the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team. This year’s selections mark the second consecutive season that Arizona has had four all-conference selections.

It was another banner season on the course for the Wildcats, winning three events as a team. Arizona opened 2024 with a Copper Cup match play victories over UCLA and Arizona State. The Cats also won the John A. Burns Intercollegiate in Hawai’i and the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate at Tucson Country Club.

Tiger Christensen won two tournaments this season, beginning with a record-breaking performance at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup. The junior won the 54-hole event with a final score of 19-under par that marked the lowest individual score in program history. Christensen picked up his second victory in March at the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate. Arizona’s third player victory of the season came at the Western Intercollegiate where Filip Jakubcik picked up his first collegiate win. The sophomore also became the first Wildcat to win the event in eight appearances at the nationally televised event.

The Wildcats were selected as the No. 2 seed at the NCAA West Lafayette Regional, which was their highest postseason seed since 2001. They will tee off as part of a 13-team field on Monday, May 13 at the campus of Purdue University.
