Gators on Tour: Week 19

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Six former Gators tee’d off this weekend on the PGA and PGA Tour Champions circuits. 

PGA Tour Golfers

The PGA Tour hosted two tournaments this weekend, with Gators in the field for both. 


Billy Horschel was the lone Gator in the Wells Fargo Championship finishing T-52 at eight over. His 1.62 putts Per GIR were ranked second in the field while his SG: off the tee value of 2.650 ranked eighth. 

Alejandro Tosti (T-63) and Tyson Alexander (Cut) were the two Gators in the Myrtle Beach Classic. Tosti started off the weekend hot with a six under round one to move into the Top-5 and his17 birdies ranked 24th among the field. 

PGA Tour Champion Golfers

The Tour Champions was in Alabama this weekend for their first major of the year. Brian Gay (T-11), Scott Dunlap (T-39), and Chris DiMarco (T-44) all tee’d off int he Regions Tradition. 

Gay Continued a dominate run with his seventh top-20 finish of the season. The Gator Great’s weekend was capped by a six under round of 66 that included six birdies and an eagle on the 448 yard eighth hole. Gay stayed at 20th this weekend in Schwab Cup Points. Scott Dunlap is the only Gator with more points sitting at 12h after his victory two weeks ago. 

Whats Next

The PGA Tour travels to Louisville for the second major of the season, The PGA Championship. Billy Horschel, Alejandro Tosti, and Camillo Villegas will be in the field. 

The Korn Ferry Tour resumes play in Kansas City, Mo. for the Advent Health Championship where Fred Biondi, Ricky Castillo, Yuxin Lin and T.J. Vogel will compete. 

The PGA Tour Champions has the week off, returning May 23 for the Kitchen Aid Senior PGA Championship.
