LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The 2024 PGA Championship is slated for May 16-19 at Louisville’s Valhalla Golf Club, but will the weather hold up for the second men’s golf major of the season? Here’s what we know.

According to a recent weather forecast from Stewart Williams, meteorologist for the PGA Championship and the Digital Transmission Network, showers and storms are likely Friday night with possible showers on Saturday morning.

Thursday is expected to be partly cloudy with a low of 55 and a high of 78. Northeast winds will move south at 5 to 10 mph.

A low-pressure system is expected to bring showers and storms through the area from Friday evening to Saturday morning. There’s a 60 percent chance of precipitation Friday with showers and storms likely in the evening. A half-inch to three-quarters of an inch of new rainfall is likely. Temperatures could reach a low of 62 and a high of 76 with southwest winds between 10 and 15 mph.

Saturday’s forecast includes a 40 percent chance of precipitation and possible showers in the morning. New rainfall could amount to a tenth of an inch. Temperatures could reach a low of 60 and a high of 80 with southwest winds between 6 and 12 mph.

Sunday’s current forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 82 and a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service of Louisville.
