#5 Vols Place Second In Austin Regional, Punch Ticket to NCAA Championships

AUSTIN, Texas – The fifth-ranked Tennessee men’s golf team is headed to the NCAA Championships following a second-place finish at the Austin Regional.

By way of being one of the top five teams in the Austin Regional, the Vols qualified for the NCAA Championships, which are set to take place from May 24 to May 29 at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa.

“(I am) just so proud of this group of guys,” said head coach Brennan Webb. “They have taken on every bit of adversity that’s been thrown at them and accepted each and every challenge.”

“No one outside of our circle thought we would be able to accomplish everything we have this semester, but no one inside our circle doubted it. We aren’t done yet.”

The Vols are set to be one of 30 total teams competing at the NCAA Championships, as five teams from each of the six regionals advanced to the final stage. Tennessee’s upcoming appearance in the NCAA Championships marks Webb’s second as a head coach.

As a team at the Austin Regional, the Vols finished runner-up and shot a three-round total of 11-under 841. The second-place finish is Tennessee’s highest regional finish since 2021 and ties for the program’s best regional finish.
