The 2024 Pac-12 champion Sun Devil men’s golf program has four PING GCAA All-Americans for the third time in the past four seasons.
Wenyi Ding was announced as a first-team selection earlier and he is joined by third-team selections Ryggs Johnston and Preston Summerhays as well as honorable mention pick Josele Ballester. The program had four GCAA All-Americans in 2021 for the first time since 2009, and then did the same in 2023 and in 2024. Matt Thurmond‘s has had 10 All-Americans earn the honor 18 times in his eight seasons.

Ryggs Johnston – who closed his career with four straight top-10 finishes — finished his five years as a Sun Devil with third-team All-America honors in 2024, as he helped lead the Sun Devils to the 2024 Pac-12 title. Johnston also earned third-team honors in 2021, highlighted by his third-place finish at the NCAA Championships. The Montana native had 14 career top-10 finishes and earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors twice (2024 and 2021) and second-team honors in 2022. He became the second Sun Devil men’s golfer to earn the Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2022-23 as he graduated in May of 2023 with his management degree and a certificate in sports business and then earned ASU’s Bill Kajikawa Award in 2023-24, given to a senior student-athlete based on academic excellence, athletic accomplishment, leadership and service in the community.
