Chen to Make Pro Debut This Week on Epson Tour

DURHAM – Following a solid four-year career with the Duke women’s golf program, recent graduate Anne Chen will make her professional debut this week on the Epson Tour.  Chen will tee it up along with 133 other golfers at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship June 7-9 at the Battle Creek Country Club in Battle Creek, Mich.

The golfers will play 54 holes of stroke play with the cut to the top-60 and ties after 36 holes.  The purse will be $200,000 with the winner’s portion being $30,000.

Over her four years at Duke, Chen totaled 13 top-20 and eight top-10 finishes, while collecting a 73.51 stroke average.  She notched 34 rounds of even or under par and registered a victory at the Chattanooga Classic in 2022.  In Chattanooga, Tenn., Chen carded rounds of 72, 69 and 66 for a 9-under, 207, to capture tournament medalist accolades.

A native of Sugar Land, Texas, Chen notched 11 rounds in the 60s over her Blue Devil career, including two of the lowest 18-hole ledgers in Duke history in 2023-24.  At the Landfall Tradition, Chen shot an 8-under, 64, in the final round to lead the Blue Devils to the team title. She also carded a 7-under, 65, in the second round of the Florida State Match-Up as Duke cruised to the team title as well.

Since Chen competed in LPGA Stage II qualifying in October and finished the tournament, she owns 2024 Epson Tour status.  Chen earned a degree in public policy from Duke in May.

Chen will be joined this week by fellow Blue Devils Erica Shepherd and Miranda Wang.  The opening tee shot for Chen will be at 8:03 a.m., off hole No. 10.
