Kevin Tucker Named Women’s Head Golf Coach

PULLMAN, Wash. (June 24, 2024) – Washington State University Interim Director of Athletics Anne McCoy announced Monday the hiring of Kevin Tucker as the Cougars’ eighth women’s head golf coach.

“We are pleased to announce Kevin Tucker as our Women’s Head Golf Coach,” said McCoy. “Kevin’s familiarity with WSU as both a student-athlete and men’s associate head coach, his ability to identify talent early in the recruiting process, his organization, as well as his insight to our women’s program, were unmatched throughout the process. He is well respected, prioritizes the student-athlete experience and is passionate about elevating Cougar Women’s Golf.”

Tucker will lead the women’s golf program after having spent the last six seasons on the WSU men’s golf staff, most recently serving as associate head coach. The Washington State alum was also a two-time NCAA Regional Championship participant in his playing days as a Cougar.

“It’s a true honor to be the next Women’s Golf Head Coach,” said Tucker. “First, I need to thank Anne McCoy, Kelli Kamimura and Dustin White for their belief in me. It’s because of their trust in me, my relationship with the women’s team, and our support staff, that I know we will be successful. This program has a rich history led by some amazing coaches and I’m looking forward to building upon that. I’m a Coug through and through and coaching at my alma mater, first as the men’s assistant and now as head coach of the women’s team, is a dream come true.”

Tucker played on the men’s golf team at Washington State from 2006-10 and was the second Cougar in school history to be invited to the NCAA Regional Championship his junior year. He went back to the championship his senior year, becoming the first Cougar golfer to receive multiple individual post-season invites. Tucker was also a two-time All-Pacific-10 Conference honorable mention honoree, making him the third Cougar in school history to receive multiple post-season accolades.

During his time away from WSU, Tucker spent seven years playing professional golf and working at various golf clubs. He competed on the PGA Canada Tour from 2011-14, while also competing in All-American tour in Phoenix from 2011-13. He spent one season on the Dakotas Tour in 2016.

Tucker worked at many Golf Clubs including the Estancia Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., Castle Pines Golf Club in Castle Rock,…
