Three Illini Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors


CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Lexanne Halama, Anna Ritter and Isabel Sy were all named to the College Sport Communicators Academic All-District At-Large list, the association announced today.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, nominees must have a minimum GPA of 3.50, completed one full calendar year at their current institution, and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Golfers must also be in the lineup for in a minimum of 70 percent of matches which were team scoring events.

Halama earns the distinction of the second-straight year, adding to her long list of academic accolades. The two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree was recently named Illinois Outstanding Scholar Athlete among junior student-athletes at the The Oskees on April 22. Halama graduated from Illinois this spring with a degree in integrative biology.

Ritter is pursuing her degree in communication and earns this honor for the first time in her career. The sophomore was also named Academic All-Big Ten for the first time in her career earlier this month.

Sy, a WGCA Honorable Mention All-American, also earns CSC Academic All-District for the first time in her career. An All-Big Ten First Team performer this season, the San Gabriel, Calif., native has also been named a finalist for CSC Academic All-America and will advance to the national ballot. Sy graduated from Illinois this spring with a degree in kinesiology.
