KemperSports continues to add new personnel to its roster with addition of Josh Ward as vice president of new business development.
Ward is a veteran of the golf industry, having most recently spent six years in revenue management and business development roles in the golf course management business, advising all property types in revenue management and marketing before moving over to business development.
“My deep knowledge of operations across every kind of property is a huge help in relating to golf course owners and board members, Ward said. “I’m a big believer that the best experience comes from being involved in extensive scenarios and having great leaders to learn from and lean on.”
He started his career in sales at NBC Sports/Golf Channel and also dedicated time at PGA West and La Quinta Resort doing resort operations and revenue management. Ward obtained a bachelor’s degree from Miami University in 2013 and an MBA from Ohio University in 2020. His experience allows him to connect at a deeper level with golf course owners and board members because he understands the resources they need to get them to where they want to go.
“The biggest thing that drew me to KemperSports is their unique approach both with their clients and their team members,” Ward said. “With KemperSports, clients are brought into a family of industry professionals who genuinely care about their fellow team members and their performance. It’s not merely a transactional process; KemperSports’ values of delivering the very best guest experiences, putting the client’s brand above theirs, and simply doing what’s right every day are very important and personal to me. Working in business development, you must believe in the company, the leadership and the services you offer.”
Ward is looking forward to connecting with owners and board members to explain how the company can help them, and more importantly, the reasoning behind the KemperSports approach.
“KemperSports is a company that believes in taking care of our team members, clients and guests,” he said. “We are big enough to offer outstanding benefits and guidance in each area of golf and hospitality operations while remaining nimble enough to provide customized support at a high level where our clients don’t feel like they are getting a cookie cutter approach to management. It’s one that is much more tailored and creative. I look forward to representing this great company and sharing how our proven…
