2023-24 ACC Academic Honor Roll
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the 2023-24 ACC Academic Honor Roll on Thursday, recognizing a league record 6,187 student-athletes for classroom excellence during the most recent academic year.
The ACC Academic Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade point average of 3.0 or better for the full academic year. This marks the fifth consecutive year in which at least 5,500 ACC student-athletes have achieved Honor Roll status.
“We salute our tremendous student-athletes for their hard work and successes in the classroom and in competition this year,” said ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips, Ph.D. “We are proud to recognize a record number of student-athletes for their accomplishments in the classroom. We offer our congratulations to the thousands who earned ACC Academic Honor Roll distinction this year as well as the individuals who work diligently to support them on all of our campuses.”
Duke, which has led all schools for 36 out of 37 years of the Honor Roll, had 620 Honor Roll student-athletes, while Virginia placed 538 on the list. Notre Dame (540), North Carolina (537), Boston College (478), Louisville (447) and Clemson (435) each had more than 400 student-athletes earn recognition.
Wake Forest football’s Michael Jurgens earned a spot on the ACC Honor Roll for the seventh time.
Fourteen student-athletes made the ACC Honor Roll for the sixth time – Louisville’s Ravin Alexander (Soccer), Amy Harding-Delooze (Cross Country/Track & Field) and Louisville’s Aiko Jones (Volleyball), North Carolina’s Abby Settlemyre (Softball) and Anika Yarlagadda (Tennis), NC State’s Trent Hidlay (Wrestling), Heather Holt (Cross Country/Track & Field) and Mariah Howlett (Cross Country/Track & Field), Syracuse’s Silas Derfel (Cross Country/Track & Field), Ellie Lawley (Cross Country/Track & Field), Marielle McHale (Ice Hockey) and Matt Scrape (Cross Country/Track & Field), Virginia’s Justin McCoy (Wrestling) and Wake Forest’s Anna Bush (Track & Field).
Each school had multiple student-athletes who achieved ACC Academic Honor Roll listing for the fifth time.
