EAST LANSING, Mich. – Florida women’s golfer Addison Klonowski is three shots back of the individual lead with the Gators in third through 36-holes of the Mary Fossum Invitational on Sunday.
Klonowski recorded an opening round of 5-under 67, which featured a bogey-free front nine as she was 6-under through 15 holes. It marked her third under par round this season as the redshirt-freshman enters tomorrow three back of individual leader Caitlyn Macnab (-8, Ole Miss). Klonowski followed up with an even par 72 in round two and is leading the field in par3 scoring at 2.63 (-3). The Naples, Fla. native is tied second in birdies (9) and par5 scoring (4.63, -3).
The Gators shot a season best and round one of 284 (-4), good for second lowest in the tournament. A round two of 297 (+13) moved UF into third and paired with leaders Ole Miss (-13) and Minnesota (-2) for tomorrow’s final round set for a shotgun start of 8:30 a.m.
Three other Gators are also in the top-24, with freshman Elaine Widjaja in a tie for 9th. She began the day with a 2-under 70 and holds an even par score of 142. The under par round was her third of the season, tied for a team-best with Klonowski.
Siuue Wu is two shots behind Widjaja in T15. Wu is making her collegiate debut as she recorded an even 72 in her first round. Then two back of Wu is sophomore Sophie Stevens (+4) in T24.
Inès Archer (+6) is tied for 32nd and Jessica Guiser (+9) T55.
