The Arizona Women’s Golf team finished fourth at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tennessee over the weekend. Carolina Melgrati was the top Wildcat this weekend, finishing tied for fifth in the individual standings.
Melgrati shot a 71 in her final round after starting off hot with four birdies in the first seven holes. Through the 54 holes she had 15 birdies and one eagle which is a big reason for her success. This is the first time in her career that she has posted back-to-back top five finishes after taking second place at the Folds of Honor Collegiate the last time out.
Nena Wongthanavimok shot 3-under to finish tied for 12th at 7-under par for the tournament, her best tournament score in relation to par as a Wildcat. Wongthanavimok had a fantastic back nine, with four birdies including three in a row to finish her round. This marks the fifth time in her career placing inside the top 15, with the last time being the Chervon Silverado Showdown last season, where she placed tied eighth.
Junior Julia Misemer shot 70 in her last round to finish even par for the tournament. She earned a tie for 32nd in her first tournament of the season. Charlotte Back also finished at even par for the tournament following a 75 in her final round.
Lilas Pinthier shot 2-under par in the last round and finished tied for 49th.
Next up for the Wildcats is the Windy City Classic, which runs from Sept. 30 – Oct. 1 near Chicago.
