Wildcats In First After Round One; Second Round Play Suspended Due To Darkness


After round one at the Windon Memorial Classic the Arizona Wildcats sat in first place shooting 5-under par. A very impressive first round for the Cats as they were they only team under par after the first 18 holes. Zach Pollo was in second place and one shot back of the lead in round one.
 
Pollo had an eagle on the par four first and didn’t look back in round one. He finished the round with a 5-under par 66. Tiger Christensen also had a solid round shooting a 70 with four birdies on the round.
 
Senior Johnny Walker shot even par in round one and is in the mix only six shots back after round one. Junior Filip Jakubcik shot a 72 after struggling on the front nine but finished bogey free with two birdies on the back nine. Freshman Matej Baca shot a 79 in his first round.
 
The Wildcats were thru 13-15 in round two when play was stopped due to darkness. The final holes of the second round will finish in the morning tomorrow then move to the final round.
