Two Rounds Down at Colonial – Stanford Cardinal

FORT WORTH, Texas – Through 36 holes at the Ben Hogan Invitational, No. 22 Stanford sits 8th in the team standings at 14-over on the day. 

After a tumultuous first round that saw the Cardinal go 12-over through 18 holes, the team settled in for its second trip around Colonial Country Club, shaving ten strokes for a second-round 282. Four of the five golfers in the Cardinal lineup improved their scorecards in the second round.

Freshman TK Chantananuwat was Stanford’s most consistent performer on the day, shooting 69-71 with six birdies on the afternoon. 

Jay Leng posted the Cardinal’s best individual round of the day with a second-round 68, bouncing back from a 5-over 75 in the morning round to finish the day in the top 25. 

Ethan Gao finished the day tied-34th with a 73-71, while Logan Kim turned in 75-72 scorecards to slot in T-53rd. 

Nathan Wang was Stanford’s non-scorer in both rounds, shooting 77 and 73 in the first two rounds. 

Heading into tomorrow’s final round, Oklahoma sits in the lead after day one at 8-under, while North Carolina’s David Ford and Daniel Bennett of Texas share the individual clubhouse lead at 6-under.

The Ben Hogan Invitational will conclude on Tuesday, with tee times beginning at 6 a.m. PT off the first tee.
