The Arizona men’s golf team won the Windon Memorial Classic, finishing the tournament at 10-under par. Two Wildcats – Tiger Christensen and Zach Pollo – finished inside the top three individually. The Wildcats were in full control all tournament long and led the tournament at the end of each of the three rounds.
Christensen finished in second place at 6-under par. He has placed tied-sixth or better in all three tournaments this season, the best three tournament run of his career. Pollo finished in third place, just one shot behind Christensen, after shooting a 66 in round one and 67 in the final round. This was his best finish of the season so far.
Johnny Walker was another Wildcat who had a fantastic week, finishing in eighth place. He shot 2-under par to give him his best finish since March of last season. Filip Jakubcik posted a 70 in his final round to get him to 3-over and tied for 20th. Matej Baca shot 15-over and finished tied for 70th.
The last time multiple Wildcats finished inside the top three was last season at the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate, which happens to be the last team victory as well.
Next up for the Wildcats, they head out to Scotland for the St. Andrews Links Collegiate from October 14-16, and the event will be televised on the Golf Channel.
