The University of Missouri men’s and women’s golf teams wrapped play in the Blessings Collegiate Invitational on Wednesday in tough conditions.
Senior Ffion Tynan led the Tigers on the tournament finishing in 15th after a hot start with a final total of 226 (69-74-83). Sophomore Fleur van Beek was able to climb another seven spots in the final day shooting a three-round total of 235 (81-75-79) to finish 32nd.
Overall, the women’s team finished in ninth at +65 with Arkansas claiming the women’s team title at home.
Junior Virgilio Paz followed up his first career win with a 20th-place finish, leading the Tigers on the day with a 77 to finish the tournament with a three-round total of 225 (76-72-77). Veikka Viskari finished two shots behind on the day, posting a 79 finishing with a final total of 226 (75-72-79).
The men’s team finished in ninth at +56 with LSU claiming the men’s team title.
After the final round the teams finished with a combined score of +121, placing ninth of 10 schools with Arkansas winning on its home course.
The women’s golf team takes the road for play in the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Showdown hosted by Kansas on October 7.
The men’s golf team continues its season with the Williams Cup hosted by North Carolina on October 20.
